Cheddar Gorge is a short 30 minute drive from Applebarn Holidays via Glastonbury, Wells and the A371. Alternatively you can drive through Wells and Wookey Hole and up to Priddy and arrive at the top of the Gorge.

Cheddar Gorge is spectacular regardless of the weather and you can stop in many places along the gorge and walk among the rocks and along many paths.

Abseiling lessons are available at Cheddar Gorge as is rock climbing and potholing. On any given day of the year you will see teams of people ascending and descending the cliff faces.

Just walking along the top of the gorge is breathtaking and there are many rights of way to follow in the area. In the woods you can also seek out Door mice and other rare fauna.

Available Services. Cheddar has a Sainsbury’s and Tesco Express and a very large car boot sale is held at Winchester Farm just outside Cheddar every Sunday with entry being £1 per car.
