The Sheppey is situated on the river Sheppey and is surrounded by the beautiful Somerset Levels. During the summer the outside decking above the river is a glorious space to sit and enjoy a beverage in the evening sun.

Fine dining is probably not what you are expecting when you arrive at the Sheppey but don’t let the street front exterior fool you. Inside is a menu that would not be out of place in the finest gastro-pubs in the UK.

The menu is broad at the Sheppey and you can select from the finest meat and seafood as well as some excellent vegetarian options. A long lunch is very well catered for starting with bread and oil and finishing a few hours later with toffee and stout cake or a cheese board (amongst other fine delicacies).

From Applebarn take the A361 to Glastonbury, turn right onto the A39 by-pass and then take a left onto Meare road at the roundabout. The Godney road is on the right just after you join the road and takes you across the moors. WHen you arrive in Godney turn left and follow the road until you see the pub.
