The Subhouse is housed in a converted electricity substation on princess street in Wells and offers gourmet burgers, fried chicken, fries and a whole host of sides and upgrades.

If a sit down, refined experience is what you’re after look elsewhere as the Subhouse has communal tables and is short on size so be prepared to meet some people you’ve never eaten with before..

No reservations are taken for the Subhouse so you have to simply arrive and wait for a place to sit. There is a small area where you can wait and make use of the bar and absorb the atmosphere.

Everything is fresh at The Subhouse so sometimes may not be available but this is a small price to pay for the freshest food. A gluten free bun is also available.

Wells is reached by driving to Glastonbury and taking the A39 bypass to Wells. When you reach Wells go straight over the roundabout and follow the road around and you’re in Princess Street. There are two pay and display car parks a short distance from the Subhouse.
